How to set up IPTV on a Fire TV Stick (step by step)

The quickest way to get live TV and on-demand content running on an Amazon Fire TV Stick — install OSM PLAYER, add your playlist from your phone, press Refresh.

The Fire TV Stick is the most popular IPTV device in Canada for good reason: it's affordable, it plugs straight into any HDMI port and it runs the best player apps. Here's the complete setup with OSM PLAYER, start to finish.

What you need

  • A Fire TV Stick (any recent model — 4K or 4K Max recommended for big TVs)
  • Your subscription login (Xtream Codes or M3U link)
  • Your phone, to add the playlist
  • A stable connection: 25 Mbps or more for 4K

1. Install OSM PLAYER

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, choose Find (the magnifier) and search for “OSM PLAYER”.
  2. Open the app page and select Get or Download.
  3. Not listed on your model? Install the free Downloader app and enter the code 2067786.
Because OSM PLAYER is in the Amazon Appstore, you don't need to change any developer settings — and updates install automatically.

2. Add your playlist from your phone

Open OSM PLAYER: the start screen shows a QR code, your MAC address and device key. Scan the code with your phone (or open osmplayer.com/manage), choose Xtream Codes and enter your server address, username and password exactly as you received them — or paste your M3U link. Press Test connection, then Save.

3. Press Refresh

Back on the TV, press Refresh. Your live channels, movies and series load in seconds.

4. Make it feel like cable

  • Open the TV guide (EPG) to see what's on now and next.
  • Add your most-watched channels to favourites.
  • Use an Ethernet adapter if your Wi-Fi is weak where the TV is.

OSM PLAYER is free for 7 days, then activated per device on osmplayer.com. If anything doesn't match what you see on screen, send IPTVVNorth support a photo and we'll walk you through it.
